Espionage nodes

Better spy reports for you, worse ones for your enemies: espionage nodes win the information war.

The espionage category is small – eight nodes in the fleet branch – but it can make a big difference. It has two sides: offense (your spying succeeds more often and goes unnoticed) and defense (enemy spies fail more often and see your resources less often, and your fleet appears incomplete on scans).

Who benefits?

Raiders and fleeters who spy before every attack want reliable reports without being noticed. Miners and defenders make it hard for attackers to find worthwhile targets – if you can't see what there is to take, you attack less often (Espionage).

Tips

  • The nodes start about eight steps from the centre in the fleet branch. Include them in your plan if you're heading towards fleet or escape flight nodes anyway.
  • Offensive nodes improve your own spy reports. Defensive nodes work against players who spy on you. Choose according to your play style – you rarely need both equally.
  • Stealth spying and hiding your stealth bombers go well with surprise attacks – especially if the Stealth bomber is the core of your fleet.

Reduce opponent stealth spy chance by X.1× in the network

Opponents can spy on you secretly less often, so you notice more often who is interested in your planets.

Hide your resources from enemy spies by X.2× in the network

With this chance, your resources stay hidden in enemy spy reports. Attackers then can't tell whether an attack is worth it.
