What is the Super Computer?
The Super Computer gives your researchers additional computing capacity. You build it in units at the Research lab of your planets. All units of your account together form your Super Computer network. You use it to shorten the research that is currently running. It is available in most universes.
Building units
You build units in the Buildings menu under the Research lab entry. The first unit becomes possible at research lab level 15, and each further lab level allows one more unit. Each planet builds only one unit at a time. Construction takes one day (correspondingly less in faster universes). If a lab is downgraded, only as many units count as its level allows.
Each unit costs 100 million Metal, 20 million Kryptonite and 50 million Spice – an investment for advanced players that pays off on long research.
Starting a computation
While a research is running, the Super Computer network appears on the research page. There you choose how many units should compute and a computing time. Before you start, the game shows you exactly how much research time you gain and how much Spice it costs. The Spice is taken from the current planet.
- The shortest computing time is cheaper, but also gives less acceleration.
- The standard computing time is the usual choice.
- The three longer computing times give correspondingly more acceleration and cost more Spice – but they also cost 5, 10 or 20 Urplasma.
Improving it with the Synth network
The colony branch of the Synth network has two matching nodes: one lowers the Spice costs of the Super Computer, the other increases its efficiency – the research time you gain. Another node allows research labs on asteroids. Their units then count towards the network as well (Colony nodes).
