Each level increases the speed of Battleship, Stealth bomber, Destroyer and Imperial starbase by 10%.
Requirements and unlocks
You need Engine research level 8 and a Research lab at level 8. The Warp engine unlocks Battleship (level 4), Stealth bomber (level 6) and Destroyer (level 8). At level 10 – together with Graviton technology level 10 – it is required for Black hole research.
Warp ships are the backbone of big fleets. If you rely on battleships or destroyers, keep the Warp engine up to date so that attacks and save flights do not take too long.
Background
Warp engines first came into being with the discovery of the warp effect. Warp basically means "jump"; in other words, it's the ability to fly at close to the speed of light. Since the frequency of outward-moving impulses in outer space are in a constant state of change, jumps arise which move from slow to fast and from fast to slow. This frequency is referred to as the "warp frequency". The warp generator enables this frequency to be increased in order to use it. The speed of the warp engine increases by 10% with the expansion of the generator for each level. At speeds close to that of the light of speed, the phenomenon of "resonance" occurs, leading to the formation of black holes. That is why the warp generator is so important to the field of black hole research.
