Galaxy scan
With a galaxy scanner on your asteroid you can watch enemy fleet movements nearby – perfect for intercepts and early warnings.
The Galaxy scanner stands on an asteroid. From there it scans individual solar systems and shows every visible flight that starts or arrives there: mission, start planet, target planet, player, fleet and arrival time.
How a scan works
- Switch to the asteroid with the scanner and pick a system in the same galaxy.
- The range grows with the scanner level. You can only scan systems within that range around your asteroid.
- Each scan costs 5,000 Spice, which must be available on the asteroid.
What stays hidden
Escape flights and event flights never show up in a scan, and neither do invisible attacks on aliens. With Synth nodes, fleets can appear incomplete in an enemy scan, or stealth bombers can be missing entirely. If an Imperial starbase has just exploded in a system, you will only see colonization flights there for a while.
Restrictions
- After a planet move, scanning from that asteroid is locked for 7 days.
- You cannot scan while sitting another account, in vacation mode or in spectral mode.
- In some universes the number of scanners that can be active at the same time is limited, and switching a scanner on or off takes a while. Specialization and Synth nodes allow extra active scanners, and Synth nodes can also add range.
