The solar cannon is the crown of your defense. In attack, shield and hull it beats every other gun. In return, it requires a high weapons factory, Energy technology level 10 and Targeting systems level 10.

Background

A new kind of weapons technology emerged with the creation of destructive solar weapons. And that's why the solar cannon just can't be beat: No ship's armor can withstand its power. Its range and accuracy are not very high, because its solar beam can be marginally deflected by solar radiation. That's why it is mostly used on the shadow side of the planet for the best effect.
