日本語Particle cannon
Destroys enemy defense units from afar – no fleet needed. It's charged with surplus energy.
The Particle cannon has just one job: destroying enemy defense. It doesn't hit ships or buildings. Its power comes from the particle storage, which grows by 20,000 with every level. It requires the Weapons factory at level 6 and Particle analyzer at level 5.
The storage is charged with surplus energy – whatever your power plants deliver beyond what the mines consume. On the Economy page you decide which particle storage is charged first. The rest flows into the others. Temporarily throttling your mines charges the cannon faster – at the expense of your production.
As soon as the storage is at least half full, you can fire the cannon from the building page. One shot uses up the entire storage. Destructive power drops with the distance to the target – the firing dialog shows you distance and power in advance. You pick target priorities. The first priority takes the biggest share of the blast.
Background
The particle cannon was built to destroy enemy planetary defenses. Its penetrating power changes based on the distance to its target planets. Excess energy is used to generate particles. Its particle accumulation increases by 20,000 units for each level.
